The Big Easy steel chair collection, designed by Ron Arad in 1988, shows that volume, as a simple form, can be translated without compromising design principles by rethinking materials and manufacturing processes. A model obtained by a constructive gesture becomes an industrial production; visual softness and fullness of volumes, comfort. Big Easy explores rotational molding and the use of polyethylene; Soft version with cold foaming and coated with polyester fiber with transformation of the tactile surface; in collection elements, morphology and dynamic form.
The inner steel frame is coated with fire resistant foam. The covers of the spring col
